"Our team will support you as you regain
the social skills that might have been lost"
HeadInjury UK wishes Dan Seaborne, the Southampton football player, a complete and speedy
recovery from his serious head injuries. He suffered his serious head injuries in an alleged
assault outside a nightclub in Southampton which is the subject of a criminal investigation. His
manager has confirmed he is now out of hospital although it is unknown when he will return to
playing.
Dan’s alleged assault reminds us that serious head injuries are not only suffered in accidents, but can
also be sustained following intentional assault. In the case of an assault victim suffering serious head
injuries it is rarely practical to pursue a compensation claim against the attacker. The victim however
can still obtain compensation from the state run Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA).
Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority Claims
There are a number of criteria that must be met to successfully obtain an award of compensation from
the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority which include:
Whilst a victim can apply to the CICA without any legal advice, in cases of serious head injuries the
victim is always best advised to instruct a specialist Head Injury solicitor with expertise in dealing
with the CICA. At HeadInjuryUK we have such expertise, so if you or someone you know has
suffered serious head injuries in an assault then please contact Andy Shaw of HeadInjuryUK.
We know that we have been extremely fortunate to have had such a consummate PI lawyer in Andy acting on our behalf but we have also been blessed by having had his support, trust, friendship and loyalty throughout. We cannot ever thank him enough.
The compensation Nicola has received has helped her move from a tiny council flat into a massive bungalow which has been specifically adapted. It has enabled her to have a better life.
If it was not for the help of my solicitor I don't know where I would have been today. He provided a great deal of emotional support and secured compensation at various stages from the insurance company to fund my treatment and allow me to live. He was there from start to finish.
Higgs & Sons acted for us for 5 years until our daughters claim for personal injuries was finally settled. Ian remains a trustee of our daughters trust fund and we now look upon him as a friend.
