Traumatic head injuries are apparently far more widespread among young people than previously thought, according to a recent study in the Journal of the American Medical Association, most likely because many incidents go unreported.
The study into the number and circumstances of head injuries among Canadian school students aged 11 -20, found that over half of them were sports-related. Also, boys were over 50% more likely than girls to report having had a head injury.
